Angel Ministry

 

Since human beings are personalities,

It is exceedingly difficult

For nonpersonal spirits

(e.g. Adjutant Mind Spirits)

And prepersonal entities

(e.g. Thought Adjusters)

To make direct contact

With the densely material

And disjointed human minds.

 

One of the most important things

A destiny guardian

Does for her mortal subject

Is to effectively coordinate

The numerous impersonal

Spirit influences that indwell,

Surround, and impinge

Upon the mind and soul

Of the evolving material creature.

 

In the ministry of the guardian angels,

All of these influences

Are essentially unified

And made more perceptible

To the expanding moral nature

Of the evolving human personality.

 

The seraphic guardians

Correlate

The manifold agencies and influences

Of the Infinite Spirit:

    The physical controllers,

        The adjutant mind-spirits,

The Holy Spirit of the Divine Minister,

And the omnipresent spirit

Of the Infinite Spirit.

 

 The history of humankind

Is indelibly marked

By the protection

Of spirit guardianship.

 

Without the guardianship

Of the angels,

Life on this planet

Would be grim.

 

Humans enjoy their lives

As they are

Because they have been given

Into the safekeeping of the angels.

Awareness of Guardianship

 

Few occasions in mortal careers

Can be traced with certainty

To the effort

Of guardian angels.

Only faith assures mortals

They are in fact being guarded.

 

Humans have never known

Life without angels.

Guardianship by the heavenly spirits

Is given to mortals as a special privilege

Of God's providence.

 

 The ever-correcting,

Ever-defending interventions

Of these angelic powers

Are provided to keep the human race

And each individual

On the true pathway

To perfection.

 

This providence is man’s birthright.

It is independent of his good will.

Angel Dedication

 

The angels are single-minded

In their determination

To lead man

To his eternal salvation.

 

The attention of the angels,

Particularly the guardian angels,

Is most immediately

Concentrated upon

Man’s temporal welfare.

 

Their final objective

Is the soul of man

As that soul is destined

For possibilities

Unimaginable to man.

Gender Distinctions

 

Though angels are very affectionate

And sympathetic,

They are not sexually based

Emotional creatures.

 

Like the angels,

Mansion world mortals

Do not marry

Or produce children.

 

Angels

(Children of the Divine Minister)

Are designated by feminine pronouns.

 

Mansion world mortals are referred to as

Sons of God

Since they are beings of more direct descent

From the Father and the Son.

Destiny Guardians

 

Every soul,

Regardless of the level of life,

Has angels watching over it.

 

The more prestigious

Angelic assignment

Of destiny guardian

For mortals,

Is made from groups

Of volunteer seraphim.

 

The experience, skill, and wisdom,

Of the angelic pair

And the needs of the human

Are carefully matched.

 

Only experienced and tested

Seraphim of long service,

Are assigned as destiny guardians. 

 

 Although assigned in pairs,

Either of the guardian seraphim

Can discharge all of

The ministering responsibilities

For mortals. 

 

It is only for communication

And service on the higher circuits

Of the universes

That both angels are required.

 

While the primary guardian

Discharges the oversight duties,

Her complement of being

(And passive companion)

Assumes the responsibility

As the recorder of the

Human’s decisions.

 

When required,

These records are kept

By lesser angels.

(A cherubim and a sanobim

Are always associated

With the seraphic guardians.)

 

Angelic Guidance

 

As men proceed

Through their mortal careers,

The guardian angels

Attempt to influence them

In every possible manner

Consistent

With the dignity

Of man’s personality.

They stop short

Of risking interference

With the free action

Of human will.

 

The choices each human makes

For his life are his alone. 

The guardian seraphim

Act to manipulate

The circumstances

Of the mortal’s environment

With the hope

That the human ascender

Will experience a growth

Of cosmic insight.

 

 The mandate for individual free choice

Is from the Father

In anticipation

Of eventually guiding

The personifying

Fragments of the Unqualified Absolute

Who will enter the

The kingdom of man

In future ages.

 

Good or Evil

 

Guardian Angels work to fulfill

Both the good or evil

Tendencies expressed by their human subjects.

 

 They are committed to enable

The will of the mortal

Or the will of the Father

Whichever the human desires.

 

They are the Yin and the Yang,

The Pegasus and Unicorn

Symbols of mortal aspiration.

 

That is why humans should pray

"Lead us not into temptation.

Deliver us from evil."

Social Architects

 

Just as they do on Earth,

Many angels work as social architects.

They do everything

Within their province and power

To bring together individuals

Who may constitute efficient

And agreeable working groups.

They also plan

Soul incarnations into

Specific families.

 

Many of these groups are re-associated

On the mansion worlds

For continued service.

 

Social architects

Do not always attain their ends.  

They are not always able

To bring together

Those who would form

The most ideal groups

To achieve given tasks.

Under these conditions

They utilize the best

Persons available.

Spiritual Collaboration

 

Like the guardian angels,

The social architects

Continue the ministry

Begun on Earth

On the mansion and higher worlds.

 

They are concerned

With any undertaking

Involving progress

That concerns three or more persons.

 

Two beings are regarded

As operating on the mating,

Complemental, or partnership basis,

But when three or more

Are grouped for service,

They constitute a social situation

And fall under the jurisdiction

Of the social architects.

Quickeners of Morality

 

On the mansion worlds, ascending mortals

Begin learning self-government

For the benefit of all.

 

Individuals learn co-operation,

And how to plan

With other and wiser beings.

 

On Jerusem (the system headquarters),

Seraphic teachers

Known as Quickeners of Morality

Accelerate their students understanding

Of cosmic morality -

The interaction

Of liberty and loyalty.

Mind Planners

 

Mind Planners are angels devoted

To the effective grouping

Of morontia beings

And to organizing their teamwork

On the mansion worlds.

 

They are psychologists.

The majority of this particular division

Of seraphic ministers

Have had previous experience as guardian angels.

 

The mind planners study the nature,

Experience and status

Of the Adjuster souls

In transit through the mansion worlds

And facilitate their grouping

For assignment and advancement.

 

The mind planners do not scheme,

Manipulate, or otherwise take advantage

Of the ignorance or other limitations

Of mansion world students.

They respect ascenders

As independent volitional beings,

And encourage their speedy development

And advancement.

 

Mind Planners are friends and counselors -

Angels who help ascenders

Know themselves as the angels know them.

Who protect humans

During their mortal career

Continue with the ascending pilgrims

Through the central universe.

 

Others,

Bid their long-time mortal associates

A temporary farewell.

 

While the mortals

Traverse the circles

Of the central universe,

Their former guardians

Achieve the cosmic circles

Of the angels.

 

These diverted guardians will welcome

Their mortal associates

When they awaken from the

Last transit sleep of time

On the shores of Paradise

 

 The ascending seraphim

Enter advanced service

Either in the Finaliter Corps

Or in the Seraphic Corps of Completion.

Career Path

 

Angels yearn to attain the heights

Of universal seraphic service.

Their goal is to eventually be granted clearance

For Seraphington and Paradise.

 

The most assured path

For an angel to attain a career of finality

Is by making the supreme choice

For the post of guardian angel.

 

In acting as personal guides

For the children of time

Along the paths of divine destiny,

Guardian angels are also determining

Their own high destiny

For achieving the Paradise Deities.

 

Their success as destiny guardians,

The most highly prized of all seraphic duties,

Practically assures them access to Paradise

By the progressive path

Of evolutionary ascent.

 

It is not possible for angels to attain God

From the human level of origin,

For they are created a little higher than men.

 

While they cannot start from the very bottom,

They may go down to those

Who do start from the bottom

And pilot such creatures, step by step,

World by world,

To the gates of the central universe.
